Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a strong MEP background, ready to lead complex, critical Data Center projects? In conjunction with a global engineering leader, Blackfield Associates are seeking a Senior Project Manager to act as a client representative on a long term contract basis, overseeing large-scale data center construction from inception to handover.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager, you will report to the end client and act as the Assistant to the Employer’s Representative, responsible for project delivery through construction, fit-out, commissioning, and handover phases. You will lead a site-based team, manage key stakeholders, and ensure best-in-class project execution.
- Lead project delivery across all phases, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.
- Set up and manage project meetings, keep stakeholders informed, and maintain clear communication.
- Develop and manage the Project Execution Plan, change management, and risk mitigation processes.
- Prepare and present monthly reports, weekly updates, and other stakeholder presentations.
- Monitor performance, safety, and quality on-site; conduct regular inspections and report findings.
- Review and provide recommendations on contractor plans, logistics, safety, and quality standards.
- Support tender negotiations, procurement processes, and value engineering efforts.
- Coordinate all stakeholders to ensure seamless project handover, commissioning, and defects management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent OR 10+ years of related construction management experience.
- Proven experience of delivering large-scale Data Center construction projects
- Proven experience leading and mentoring project teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles and local construction regulations.
- Proven track record in managing contractors, vendors, and complex project processes.
Candidates must hold either an EU passport or Swedish Residency and be prepared to work 5 days per week on site in Sweden for at least 2 years, with likely project length being 5 years in total.
