Key purpose of the job

Responsible for the development & delivery of a customer centric UK strategy for new therapy areas, including market development, go-to-market strategy, organizational awareness and input to regional and global strategy for pipeline products. This will focus on a time horizon of 5 years pre-launch to transfer to and/or establishment of a commercial business unit.

Key accountabilities

Strategic Approach to New Product Planning

· Accountable for the Launch Activity Process from 5 years pre-launch to transfer to and/or establishment of a commercial business unit

· Defines and utilises a standardized approach to New Product Planning

· Supports the development of a coordinated UK position and strategy for new therapy areas & pipeline products.

· Responsible for the development and execution of strategic business plans, and pre-launch and launch market development plan. Analyze key disease and healthcare dynamics, market opportunities and potential, and competitive landscape in order to develop opportunities assessments, business cases and inform strategic decisions.

· Coordinates the execution of cross-functional market development, access and uptake strategies

· Co-create commercial launch build-out plan, resources and timelines that align with overall strategic plans and supports the successful transition of new therapy areas and pipeline products to the line of business

Execution of strategic plans

· Establishes, monitors and reports on KPIs and performance metrics

· Responsible for Global Launch Office budget and ensures that resources are appropriately allocated

· Define clear insights based UK perspective and position on future markets opportunities for each individual product/therapy area, including but not limited to assessment of patient opportunity & patient subsegments, penetration of diagnostics & treatments, Assess variation in care pathways & service provision, Forecast & penetration assumptions, define early Go To Market Strategy

· Recommend future structure & resourcing, including assessment of partnering or innovative commercial arrangements

· Responsible for the development of the transition framework and KPIs of new therapy areas & pipeline products into the line of business in an organised and repeatable manner

Cross Functional Project Management & Stakeholder Management

· Responsible for cross-functional working group to ensure alignment as well as strong collaboration and organisational effectiveness across the UK with respect to new product planning

· Ensure consistency and efficiency in how approved initiatives are managed and executed

· This position demonstrates a strong leadership role and interacts with the UK Leaderships Team and works closely with key stakeholders across the UK organisation as well as above country counterparts and business partners.

· Coordinating, informing and partnering with the relevant global teams on behalf of the UK to ensure that the UK perspective is represented appropriately in global plans and considerations. Contributing to the global strategy by working closely with the PVPs, global marketing, medical team, and BD teams by participating on relevant cross functional teams.

External relationships

· In partnership with the relevant internal function, build relationships with external stakeholders that are key to new launches and awareness of new processes to support commercialisation (i.e. ILAP/EAMs, NICE Office for Market Access, NHS England).

· External relationships include interactions with various vendors and consultants based on the needs of special projects or implementation of new programs
