A pharmaceutical organisation in West Sussex are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be crucial in maintaining seamless production operations, supporting equipment across multiple departments, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Engineering Practice (GEP) standards. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage with global engineering forums and drive continuous improvement in packaging operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key resource in packaging serialization and commercial equipment, improving processes and performance metrics.
- Provide support during audits, production operations, and handle equipment breakdowns, including managing overtime.
- Oversee contractors and equipment suppliers during installations, repairs, and calibrations.
- Assist in the development, installation, and validation of new equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and machine suppliers to resolve technical issues, occasionally requiring supplier visits.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, conducting risk assessments and reporting near-miss incidents.
- Perform light assembly, machine shop work, and fault-finding for electrical systems and PLCs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3, HND, or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations.
- Experience with serialization and commercial equipment.
- Strong diagnostic skills, particularly with Siemens PLC/HMI.
- Proven problem-solving abilities with a strong understanding of engineering standards.
- Excellent IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as 5S and Kaizen.
