Blackfield Associates are currently supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation, to recruit for a Formulation Development Scientist to join their facility based in the Leicestershire area on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Formulation Group Leader, you will be directly involved in the formulation and process development of medicinal products, covering a range of dosage forms including tablets, capsules, controlled release systems, sachets, liquids and semi-solids. You will operate various equipment involved in the manufacturing process at laboratory and pilot scale, complete accurate process documentation in accordance with GMP, and have involvement with the transfer of technology from formulation development to production.
Requirements
In order to be considered for the role, candidates must have a Bachelors degree in a related Scientific / Technical discipline and have approximately 2 years + of experience in formulation development of solid oral dosage forms, with knowledge of some of the following processes:
- Wet granulation & dry granulation
- Fluid bed coating / drying
- Encapsulation
- Tableting
- Tablet coating
Candidates must have previous experience of optimising manufacturing processes and a working knowledge of cGMP clinical manufacturing.
Any previous experience in controlled release, statistical experimental design, QbD or regulatory submissions would be advantageous.
