Contract Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer (Contract) – c£50p/h outside – Glasgow – 12 Month initial contract with a view to extend

In partnership with an international Engineering provider, Blackfield Associates are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join an exciting major new capital project based in Glasgow, Scotland.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing mechanical engineering deliverables to support the delivery of the project, undertake package management, vendor liaison, and ensuring mechanical packages comply with engineering requirements and are fit for purpose.
Other responsibilities include the production of design deliverables including calculations, specifications and reports, working with vendors and managing the delivery of vendor packages, planning and assisting with FAT’s and pre-FAT inspections. This will relate to equipment such as tanks, vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, cooling towers, chillers, and piping components.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have a formal qualification i,e. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject with experience working in a highly regulated environment i.e. COMAH/GMP. It would be advantageous to have achieved chartership status, as it would be to have experience of detailed design and package management.
