Are you a seasoned Safety Advisor with a passion for implementing high safety standards in large-scale construction projects? Blackfield Associates are seeking a Construction Health and Safety manager on a long term contract basis to oversee the safety management of large scale Data Center campus construction projects in Sweden, ensuring that best practices are applied across multiple high-risk project phases.
Responsibilities
As a Construction Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the clients construction projects meet the highest health and safety standards. You will provide independent oversight, support project teams, and work closely with contractors to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in safety management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with national Health & Safety requirements and safety management standards across all projects.
- Actively participate in day-to-day Health & Safety management, enhancing procedures through on-site presence and engagement.
- Implement and oversee construction safety management program across all Data Center projects.
- Conduct independent reviews and audits of safety procedures, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify and manage high-risk activities, collaborating with design teams and contractors for forward safety planning.
- Monitor and report on safety KPIs, assess changes in safety implications, and develop performance communication structures.
- Participate in safety meetings, training workshops, briefings, and management reviews.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of Health & Safety planning at the site level and ensure alignment between safety plans and on-site work.
- Review and assess incidents, near-misses, and accidents; monitor corrective and preventive measures.
- Promote positive safety behavior, contractor engagement, and participation in recognized safety award schemes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior safety management role, with a formal qualification in Health & Safety management.
- Proven experience in construction Health & Safety management, contractor communications, and coordination with design teams.
- Degree and/or certification in a Health & Safety profession.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, with a collaborative approach to working with contractors and project teams.
Candidates must hold either an EU passport or Swedish Residency and be prepared to work 5 days per week on site in Sweden for at least 2 years, with likely project length being 5 years in total.
