Are you an expert in commissioning with a passion for ensuring high-quality outcomes in complex Data Center projects? Blackfield Associates are seeking a Commissioning Manager MEP to represent the end client in leading the commissioning process, ensuring that client data center facilities meet the highest standards of performance and safety on Sweden based projects.
Responsibilities
As a Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of critical MEP systems in data centers, ensuring compliance with client standards and industry guidelines. You will manage the commissioning process from start to finish, including documentation, testing, and turnover, while coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage the entire commissioning process, ensuring adherence to the Commissioning Plan of Record (CxPOR).
- Develop and maintain commissioning procedures, standards, and scripts; oversee scheduling, execution, and documentation.
- Inspect construction sites, review QA/QC processes, and monitor commissioning progress.
- Utilize Automated Commissioning Management System (ACxMS) to manage test scripts, track issues, and support vendor compliance.
- Conduct factory witness testing and manage the Issue Resolution Log, tracking issues to completion.
- Oversee commissioning from Levels 2 to 5, attending critical tests, and coordinating meetings with vendors and stakeholders.
- Report regularly on commissioning scope, schedule, risks, and progress to management.
- Assist with the turnover to operations, ensuring all issues and defects are resolved in a timely manner.
- Lead commissioning meetings, publish minutes, and integrate lessons learned to enhance project outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure.
- At least 6 years of commissioning experience and 5 years managing commissioning teams.
- Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or related commissioning education courses.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, switchgear, generators, HVAC, and BMS.
- Proven ability to develop detailed commissioning scripts and manage complex issue resolution.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office, MS Visio, and MS Project.
Candidates must hold either an EU passport or Swedish Residency and be prepared to work 5 days per week on site in Sweden for at least 2 years, with likely project length being 5 years in total.
